Precise Temporal Conversion
Superior temporal conversion by up to +/-10% allows material to fit a time slot, and
without introducing visible artifacts or judder due to frame dropping/duplication.
The audio tempo is correspondingly changed with the video.
The input sources can be any of progressive, interlaced, 32-pulldown, or mixed.
In addition, multiple tempo change adjustment values
can be defined and localized by time and duration, allowing some regions to be preserved, and
others squashed or extended.
Robust and Sophisticated
Inverse Telecine &
Mixed Mode Handling of Interlace | Inverse-Telecine | PSF
Best quality available 2:3 and 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal (inverse telecine) with mixed/broken/random cadence handling
in noisy conditions.
Progressive segmented frame (PSF) detection and handling for progressive inputs marked as 59.94i or 50i.
PSF is reliably detected and handled amongst telecine or interlaced content.
(See our success story "Metallica: "Some Kind of Monster"here).
Breakthrough Quality HDR/SDR Noise Reduction and
Highest Quality HEVC Encoding
Breakthrough GPU MC HDR/SDR noise-reduction technology
achieves up to 12db noise reduction,
while reducing flicker and preserving details and edges.
When combined with scaling, viewers can enjoy a near immersive viewing experience not normally achieved with SD sources.
Significant HEVC/H.264 bandwidth savings. For noisy sources, results show up to a 80% file size reduction while maintaining image sharpness and fine detail.
Viarte noise reduction provides a better foundation for any SDR to HDR up-conversion (offered by other companies).
With denoise, we are also providing the highest quality HEVC encoding at any given bitrate,
for mobile, premiere OTT, ATSC 3.0 broadcast and Blu-ray applications.
Stay tuned for further announcements on Viarte cloud fast HEVC encoding.
Color Conversion and Other Features and Benefits
Accurate color conversion between Rec 601, Rec 709, ITU, DCI-P3, BT 2020.
Multiple encoding formats are provided, such as MPEG-2, IMX, JPEG 2000,
HEVC, H.264, Prores, XAVC(decoding), AVC-Intra, DNxHD, XDCAM-HD, DVCPRO-HD and DPX, etc. with target bit-rate and profile control.
Accurate and flexible output timecode control
including SMPTE-drop-frame count, or exact frame count,
output timecode can be adjusted according to configuration, or can pass through from the input.
Logo insertion and a proprietary water-marking process are supported to protect your content.
Secure content handling - including during file transfers and on our premises.
Your content is always stored on encrypted filesystems, which drastically reduces the risk of content loss.
DPP AS-11 compliant.
Viarte Remastering Services
Remastering is a super-set of standards conversion,
mainly because frame-by-frame inspection is often required,
and the source material may have condition problems.
These problems include
combinations of SD, film, HD with different frame rates, scan types, varied noise types and noise levels,
and inaccurate or misleading metadata.
Material is sometimes further subjected to an add-hoc editing process that results
in damaged video, such as mixed/random cadences, add-hoc crossfades, dropped/duplicated frames, etc.
It is a technical challenge to bring all this content into the best shape so it
can provide a near-immersive viewing experience when presented online or on
Blu-ray, and especially for larger displays.
Viarte breakthrough quality remastering service seamlessly ties and engages all of
Viarte's breakthrough video processing
technologies. It could make your valuable SD and HD content look better than ever before
when viewed on a HDR/WCG UHD/HD TV and for Blu-ray production, while benefiting from substantial HEVC/H.264
compressed bandwidth savings for online distribution,
a true win-win combination. For more information,
check out our Viarte Remastering Guide.
